Installing wider rear tire

I don't know if anyone has already covered this, but I read a year or so ago about someone struggling for hours trying to install a wider rear tire back between the swingarm. I installed mine today by pulling off the final drive (4 nuts, easy to do), putting it on the tire, and bolting it back up. Took all of about 10 minutes. Mine is a Pirelli Night Dragon 170/80/15.

it is definately easier to install a wider tire with the rear bevel off as you did.

Good to know!

Take a look at your splines while you were in there?

Sure did, and breathed a sigh of relief at what I saw.
