master cylinder

Ok I started with the front brakes locking up and now I have removed the right side caliper as you are sitting on the bike. It closed but now I changed out the brake fluid it won't close anymore. I put Dot3 in and it calls for DOT4. Does it matter that much because I didn't see DOT4 only 3 and 5.

I opened the bleeder screw on that cylinder and nothing came out as I was pressing the cylinder back in which brings me to think that there was no fluid in there.

So I don't know where to go from here. I put my finger against the threads on the master cylinder and it had pressure but it doesn't seem to be coming out like I think it needs to come out.

Grace and Peace to you!
Richard
