Upper/lower triple-tree removal

Hi everyone,

I'm still in the process of modifying my 750 to flat black, and the next step I have are the upper and lower parts of the steering so I can powder coat them.

I have the PDF of the 750 manual, and it mentions a special tool to separate the upper and lower parts of the steering from the frame. Can this be done without a Kawasaki tool, and if so, what do I need?

I'm looking to see if someone has done a writeup on how to separate everything so I can see more information on how it's done.

Cheers,
JT

You can use a spanner wrench or a hammer and flat bladed screwdriver will work just fine. Use the screwdriver against one of the 'spokes' of the staring head nut and smack with the hammer to spin the nut lose.
