Back shocks have settings 1-4 whats best

I jut wondering what the best setting is, Im about 225lbs, any comments suggestioons

1985 750 Vulcan-Red
36,875 miles
New timing chain
New choke cable
Clean front rim
new throttle pull back cable
new spark plugs
New Bridgestone on the back
New Fluids all around
SeaFoam in the tank

Set both at 1 for a week then set them at 4 for a week. Go back to 1 again and come and tell us if you noticed a difference....

i never noticed a difference in mine so i put some harley shock off of a 103 dyna on the back of mine and now it is basically a hard tail until i am riding two up and even then it is fairly stiff
