New Tires

Ok well i got my bike fired up and out of my inlaws poleshed..only to discover my rear tire is blown.
I bought new tires like 3-4 years ago, they are the Kenda Kruze tires..i know i had a thread on them but cant find it. I know they are the oversize tires.
I ordered them online and cant remember from where!

Any help and reccommendations would be great.
I am going to be replacing the rear and the front!

Never mind i found the old old thread! Wow...i bought them back in spring 2010. They lasted 3 years and about 15k miles...not too bad!
Just ordered another set off motorcycle superstore..$161 for both tires.

I have a 2002 with 13,000 miles on it and as far as I know still on factory original tires. tread is still ok but tires are 12 years old and that worries me. Thinking I should replace them. Found Shinko tires on Amazon are cheap. Anyone had bad experience with those?

I recently bought a Shinko SR733 for the front from Amazon. (seller was Pinwall Cycles) The tire is marked as 100/90/ 19 on the sidewall of the tire, but as it turns out it is MUCH smaller than marked. sitting it side by side with the old tire (Dunlop 404) there was a very noticeable difference. Measuring with my calipers, the thickness of the tire was about 85mm rather than 100mm.

Despite this difference, I tried mounting there tire anyways. got it on the wheel, but couldn't get the bead to seat. gave up and took it to a shop. they couldn't get it to seat wither.

Ended up getting a Metzeler 888 for a not too horrible price from the shop as I didn't want to wait on shipping for another tire.

......I'd rather wake up in the middle of nowhere then in any city on earth.

Watch out for pin wall, some of their stuff its good, but most its junk... I finally stopped using them after 4 different items were not in the condition they said they were on

I put Shinko Tourmaster 230's on my bike 14k miles ago. The rear just got to the point where I felt it needed to be changed so I bought another Shinko for it. I figure 14k miles for that money is worth it.

I've used Pinwall for used parts in the past and had no issues. The tire they sent me was fairly new per the DOT number. Not really sure I can put any blame on Pinwall for the tire. I'd say it's a manufacturing issue that the tire is so under sized, or improperly stamped with the size.
