How to change speedometer gears

Ok so after a bunch of tests I have narrowed down my problem of the speedometer not working to the front tire speedometer gears. I have already changed the cable and that was not it. I am asking for help in how to change the gears? I would very much appreciate how to do it.

That little housing that the cable screws into just comes off after you remove the front wheel. Note the position it's in, kinda sits in there between 2 notches to keep it in place. I think I have one if you need it.

I have ordered all new parts through a Kawasaki dealership. I just am trying to figure out how to do this because I have never done it before. Thanks

That's odd, there are 2 steel gears in there. The housing is what holds the gears. The reciever is connected to the wheel and acts like a spanner wrench to rotate the gears. Have you looked at the reciever? It should be flush from the bottom to the spanner teeth. If it is flared near the teeth, it is ruined.
