speedo cable

my speedo cable snaped got a replacment but is to short ( cabel from kawasaki dealer ) the number on original one is tskm21h31029 any ideas wot this cable is from

All I know is that the correct oem cable number is 54001-1029

oem cable is 38in long my cable is 40in long dose it meen i got diferant front end on mine bike is 93 euro which should be a 38in cable but 38in is 2in to short
