Mono shock

Has anyone tried this?

I've been wanting to change my shocks out for something a little shorter and stiffer.. As I was looking at the bike I started thinking.. And what was I thinking? Soft tail. Behind the battery we have a cross bar above the swingarm. It doesn't look like it would be that hard to weld in a bracket from a older CBR or some other sport bike. Any thoughts?

I have a buddy with a V-Star 1100... It has a mono shock, so I am going to use his swing arm and rear tail section to come up a pattern to make my own swing arm.

Not sure if you need to make a new swing arm.. It may just need a mounting tab welded to the stock SA .. I should of looked at it last time I changed the rear tire,,

I shocked that we are the only ones to think about this so far..

I am concerned with the thickness of the steel in the rear portion of our swing arm.
