Ok! I have read a ton of great information regarding front fork seals. My question is how do I know if they need to be replaced? The fork caps on my bike are in rough condition but there is no fluid or leakage on them. What is the testing procedure? And is there anything wrong with replacing the fork caps with new ones strictly for looks?
If you are not seeing any oil residue on the fork tubes, then they are probably good. The top cap is just cosmetic, the actual seal is under it. You can just replace the top cap for appearance purposes.
That is what I was hoping! Thanks.. I have to put new brakes and tires on so I figure Ill do that at the same time. MUCH appreciated!
