Heres my white wall 170/80-15 and 100/90-19 up front, I really want to swap the front forks and go 170/80-15 up front as well,

Just read through this thread wondering about over-sized or not, thought I should check how old the existing tyres are on my new (to me) '86.
They both have 3 digit DOT numbers, the rear is '92 and the front is either '96 or maybe '86.
That rear Michelin is older than my oldest boy and he moved to denmark with his girlfriend last year.
Ordered some o/s Avons immediately.

There's no downside to oversize, unless maybe if seat height is a problem.

Only got about 6000-6500 miles out of the Shinko 230 Tourmaster on the rear, have to check but that mileage is real close. Not completely gone yet, but smooth enough in the middle to be a concern. Not extremely poor miles, if you consider I paid $120 for two tires, delivered. May be going darkside on the rear, still looking for a tread pattern.

Shinko up front is gone too.
