150/80-15?

Hello, new member here. I'm helping a friend put his '86 VN750 back on the road and would like to get some advice from the experienced. I've found a nice 150/80-15 for a good price and was wondering if anyone has tried this size on the rear. I'm thinking it will lower the rear end a little, but shouldn't make a huge difference. Thoughts?

You should be fine with that tire size, I run a 150-90, so there is a minimal difference.

Is it a used tire? You can pick up new tires pretty cheap and in the the proper size.

The best price I have ever seen on motorcycle tires are at www.Motorcyclesuperstore.com For CHEAP but good quality tires check out SHINKO Tourmaster 230 series. I run these and they perform excellent. I have over 8,000 miles on mine and they still have 40 - 50 % tread left on them.

Shark,
It's a new tire. A shop here is taking them of to convert some bikes to trikes. I can get the tire and wheel for $40.

I've cheched with the tire manufacturer and the 80 series has about a 1.5" smaller circumference.
