Squeaky front wheel

So I searched the forums and didn't find anything on this subject ... I just purchased a new (used) 86 VN750 .. I rode it 40 miles home and noticed that the front wheel squeaks when it spins. The brakes seem to work fine. Can anyone give me input on this? Should I just ... oil it?

Thanks,
John

Could be the front wheel bearings need to be cleaned and repacked.

The speedometer drive gear and cable are on the left side of the wheel.
It needs to be cleaned and lubed occasionally too.

Does the squeek stop when you apply the front brakes?

How many miles on the bike?

The squeak doesn't stop when I apply the brakes. The bike has 7k miles but it sat for 15 or so years up until the last few weeks.
