Cheaper sure but the vn1500 forks and tress would give you more rake and the ability to put a wider front tire on to make the front end more stable and a better look IMO.

The reason for the VN1500 Tree... is first for rake, secondly it is a lot better looking triple tree than our 750. You can still run 7/8 apes on the 1500 tree... just need 7/8" risers. And the last reason to do it... a lot more options on stuff to do to the front end of the bike. I found a complete VN1500 triple tree on ebay for 50 bucks, and a set of forks for right at 30 bucks shipped... Go price a HD fork assembly... you will find this to be way cheap.

the one issue i would have is using my 1 inch bars and the choke control. i actually have 1 inch bars, with risers, that i would have loved to use. i can deal with getting 1 inch controls and possible retro fit but the choke lever has stopped me dead. is there an alternative?
