Shock oil

Has anyone tried synthetic oil in their shocks? If so why or why not?

Thanks,

Synthetic motor oil? No, it would be too thick (our shocks are stiff enough)

They do make synthetic shock/fork oil. Some folks have used Automatic Transmission Oil.

Try doing a search on ATF and I am sure you will find one of the many discussions on using alternative oils in suspension components.

I just got some AmsOil fork and shock oil called Shock Therapy. It comes in 2 viscosities, I got the lighter of the 2, and looks very thin. I'll let ya know how it does.
