black shocks

can i sand and paint the chrome ones or does someone make a set of black shocks that will bolt up?

I would think painting wouldn't last too long, as the paint would probably chip/peel as the springs compress. Powder coating or Black Oxide may be the only way, other than buying ones that are already black. Not sure what ones out there that are black would work though.

that was my thinking as well.

im wondering if HD that fit shocks come in black.... especially if i can get a little drop in the rearend... maybe 11'' HD blacks? (wonder if they made them)

otherwise i guess i can have the springs powdercoated and paint the rest...

Yes they make black shocks. Progressive sells seveal of their shocks with the options of chrome or black covers and chrome or black springs. They also sell "black chrome" covers. Many other makers do also, as it is cheaper to powdercoat springs black than chrome them.
