Neat trick

A little trick I'd like to share:

I pulled the rear suspension off my 92 VN750 yesterday. One of the shock bushings was rusted on the mounting stud. No amount of tapping and WD-40 would loosen it. I got the shock off, but the bushing was stuck.

To make a story short, the rubber of the bushing got fragged. Wouldn't you know a 1" length of 3/8" (I think) heater hose works perfectly as a replacement! So perfect in fact, that I wonder if that's OEM!?

I rode it this morning 32miles to work and noticed no problems.

Good info spiral, for maybe temperary fix. It may not be as hard a rubber as original. Keep a good eye on it, that it does not smash and split and let the bolt wobble.
