Brake Lever

My brake lever is pretty far from the grip and has very little travel, so I would like to bring it closer. As you know, there is no way to adjust it. Is anyone aware of a replacement lever that bends a little closer to the grip?

What year is your bike? I have seen dog leg levers for the newer bikes (94? and up) but finding ones for the earlier bikes looks to be impossible now.

You can of course find an entire lever and master cylinder assembly from another bike that will fit (7/8 bars)

Aluminum brake levers are weldable.
They can be sawn, mitered to acceptable angle, chamfered and Tig welded all the way through.
Don't trust just anyone to do it, however.

PS: I accept no responsibility for someone's modification of your lever, though I would have no qualms about doing one for myself.

*edit: .... and since you brought the lever reach and travel to my attention, I may just do mine.
