remove coupler?

So i've got a final drive and coupler from members of the forum to replace mine since they are shot, i've got the snap ring off my coupler but i cant for the life of me pull that son of a bitch off the shaft, is there some special trick im missing to get it off?

rusted on? hit it with some penetrating oil, and whack it with hammer

If you have a bench vise and a long punch you can tap the shaft out of the coupler. Set the shaft in the vise and tighten it so just the very edges of the coupler are resting on the vise (not tight so you are holding the shaft in the vise). Next put the punch centered inside the coupler and tap the shaft out. Be careful not to slip and smack the splines.

Although if we are talking about this on the bike...try some pb blaster and some vise grips. Again go behind the coupler if you can reach it.

WD40 and an offset screwdriver got it off, halfway put back together now... almost there x.x
