got it done!
Just finished my rear drive replacement.. finally.
I also changed entire driveshaft, since I got one with a good coupling for a good price, and why fight with that damn clip when you dont have the right tool for the clip (ya know, 5 yrs ago, I had the tools, but had to leave them in northern michigan when I moved to florida.)
went smooth, about like I expected.
One note: when reinstalling the front bevel gear assy, once you connect the drive shaft, if you check for free spinning (making sure everything is aligned), make sure you have all the bolts for the bevel gear snugged up. if you leave them loose, it can stick out at top or bottom (due the the spring in the damper assy), and will cause just enough mis-alignment to make the universal joint on the drive shaft hit the inside of the swing arm..
had me scratching head on that for about 5 mins before I remembered the 3 bottom bolts where still a little loose. snugged up (not torqued down yet) and it pulled the bevel gear into place and cured my mis-alignment.
