Struts affect shaft

So my bike is in a bout 400 pieces and want to know if I replace the springs with home made struts would it affect the drive shaft at all?

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^That is not my bike just what I have in mind for my project.

I rode my bike lowered for many miles with no ill effect to the shaft.

many thanks niterider now i wanna find a nice thick seat to absorb some of the hard hitting roads around here
