Clutch drags a one end

Hi All,

'01' vn 750. I have adjusted the new clutch cable. The clutch still drags at one end and slips at the other. When it's adjusted to not drag it slips. When it's adjusted to not slip it drags. No happy medium. Maybe the problem is in the clutch itself? Any thoughts?

sounds like the clutch isn't put together right.. or warped parts.

There is another possibility. This happened to me. The friction plates were not actually warped, but were thicker than spec in certain places. This occurred after nearly 70,000 mostly highway miles on my '02. The plates looked fine, but when measured, there were sections of all of them that measured too thick. I figure they somehow swelled. I have never had that happen before, and have no idea what caused it, but a new set of EBC friction plates fixed the problem.

I am a motorcyclist, NOT a biker.
