Clutch won't release

Suggestions on clutch friction plates that are good but inexpensive?

I had a problem with the clutch not releasing about 4 years ago. I'm pretty sure an oil additive I shouldn't have used may have caused the problem. New friction plates and clean oil seems to have fixed the problem until now. Once again, the clutch won't release. I want to replace the friction plates again, along with clean oil, and see if this fixes the current problem. The friction plates I'm finding are either really cheap or really expensive. I like cheap but I also want good. Not the best, but good. Suggestions? Thanks.

Could be the pushrod is gummed up or the rack/pinion in the bevel gear case has a problem.
