Surge Tank Boots

I am trying to remove the carbs and am getting nowhere fast ! What is the trick to removing the boot hoses from the surge tank. I have the one end off the carb but cannot seem to get them loose from the surge tank. If I am having this much trouble removing them - I can only imagine trying to reinstall.

Any quicks tricks to removing the boot hoses ? thx

Take a big fat screwdriver and push in and pry down on the boot at the base while pulling. Be carefull not to pierce the the boot.
