Same old story but cant peg it.

Ear shaved complete cleancarbs idle up real high with homemade air filters fix the air leak, all stock no rejetting it won't idle runs on front cylinder only. Want hardly run with throttle wide open like its not getting gas but you turned the gas off and it starts to run good for a minute and then it dies, done blow back method no help. Think may be float fuel hight needing checked. I read studied and seems like if i get one pronlem fixed i cause another. Any sugestions. Im ready to go get a susuki intruder if this keeps up lol or a bycycle.

Hey, I know what you mean about "Same old story...." because you are still not making a whole lot of sense with your posts as far as grammar or spelling. It was mentioned that it is difficult to read but maybe you wife wants her ipod back as you said during your first three posts. You also haven't bothered to do a real introduction as requested by a couple of members. Show a little cooperation from your side if you are really looking for some help from our end please.

It's really hard for me to understand exactly what you're saying.

You say that the float level should be checked ... so check it.

It sounds like you've got a super-rich gas/air mix. Does your bike smell like gas when you're trying to get it to idle? What color are your spark plugs on the front and back? Have you checked for a strong, consistent spark?

Well went to newbie post and thought i introduced myself. I have bought a 2001 kawasaki 750. Cheap The guy said set up year or so and he never could get it to idle. I looked he had half way cut surge tank out. Marbled the reave values but everything else was still somewhat hooked up. I followed ear shave post blocked off reeve valves and vacume lines put crank case filter on and found 2 air filters off fork truck riged them on it for temps till got air filter for it. Worked ok but had high idle due to air leaks. Put about 20 miles on it and seen where guy had made air filter out of tube sock on one post so i decided to do the same thing. I took carbs off to clean them. When put them back on and put tube sox breater on. It idled high about 4 to 5 thousand. I adjusted idle screw and noticed it was not doing anything. So pulled carbs back off. And idle screw cable was broken so i adjusted it accourding to manual with butterfly at the little by pass hole and put them back on. It cranked but ran on one cylinderand had hold throttle wide open and it just hardly stay cranked. I turn gas off and it started idle up run ok till gas ran out carb. So crank it up would turn gas off it start running ok then i turn gas back on it would bogg way down till turned it off again. So i figured i screwed something up when i cleaned them and it was getting too much gas on front cylinder not enough gas on back. Just guess tho. So now pulled plugs back plug was black front looked reddish kinda. I now looking at carbs on kitchen table the right one which is back cylinder when i blow through gas line will not compleatly shut gas off when i turn it upside down like the left one does. I still blow little air through the gas line on the right one. So im trying adjust the floats to where it cut it off like left. Also noticed that the vacume piston on right carb is skint up little on the side slides but its not hanging also look at pic. I try put up looks like something rigged on neadle not sure yet what that is. Lol sorry for not properly introducing my self. But if u must know im just poor guy trying see what i can do get this bike going. House burned down in january i worked on drilling rigs and well been layed off for awhile and yes this only means transportation i got. So got few things on my mind and sorry .

Sorry to hear about your house, man. That's a disaster if ever there was one.

I wasn't able to see the picture of the float needle 'rigging' you mentioned, but that sounds pretty suspicious. I've never torn down my carbs, so you're more knowledgable than I am in this arena, so I'm going to bow out of the conversation. I leave you in Doc's competent hands.

Wish you the best of luck.

Yes the jet under the float has a ring wore on it where it seats to seal off gas. Guess just need rebuild the carbs when money gets greener.

Compare both float needles(they aren't jets per say as they are meant to seal off the gas flow)as far as I remember there shouldn't be a groove in the pointy side
