Idle problem??

Question...I'm constantly having to adjust my idle to get it around 1100rpm. My question is why am I having to do this at the beginning of every ride is it normal? I did notice today while working on my seat(new one) that on my test ride the neutral light was flickering and seemed as if the battery was weak. I hope not since everything about the charging system is new. After a good ride it was no longer flickering.(neutral light is on when bike is in gear) could the idle issue be due to week charge? I also have to rebuild the petcock it is leaking into the vacuum line as well. Any ideas??

My engine idles slower until it get's warmed up. heh I'd start with your ideas. Remove the seat and use a volt meter check the battery voltage then start the engine and check the voltage while reving the engine higher than idle speed. Does the voltage increase with a increase of RPMs? Is there fuel in the vacuum line that goes to the fuel petcock? Investigate those....
