Today was my first day riding to work on my 91 VN750. The bike runs well enough except for the backfiring on acceleration from a traffic light. It happens around 35 percent of the time. Once in awhile it sounds like a 22 gun shot. Kinda cool but not so much. The bike runs well otherwise and doesn't backfire. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
When I finally got the bike running I felt it was running rich. I've been using sea foam and have started long rides each day. I'm on the bike for about 1.5 hours a day now. I'm trying to be proactive.
