Today I was riding to work. I was cruising about 60 when the bike started to sputter. I let off the gas and tried to go again and it bogged down and tried to stall. I reved it up a couple of times and it cleared out and ran fine the rest of the day. I've taken the fuel shut off vavle out to make sure it's not clogged and it was clean.
Has anyone else had this problem and or is their something I could run thru the take to clean it out.
Sounds like a minor version of the phantom fuel starvation issue.
Try one of two things if/ when it happens again:
1. Do what I do and give the cap a solid thump or two until the bike stops sputtering
2. Get an extra key made, open the gas cap when the bike starts being a butthead (this is the currently favored way to deal with this).
Let us know if either one works.
