cant set idle

hi i turn the idle screw to set idle and it makes no diff...it stalls alot too..mine is a american import vz750..any one any ideas please

Check to make sure you do not have any vacuum leaks, check that carb boots to cylinders are correct and not leaking. If you can get it to idle, spray some wd40, carb cleaner, etc around, if idle increases, you found a leak.

It's also possible that your idle adjust screw isn't set against the throttle linkage plate - could be "suspended" and just not contacting anything. Check under the carbs and see if you have contact under there.

I 2nd everything and add this: check your air adjust screws for 2 1/2 turns out. I've experienced the same idle problems were the air screw fell out and the bike ran like yours.
