choke

I'm getting a 1986 vn750. when I rode it if I took the choke off It would die even after the ride it still died. could only take it off about half. is this the carbs needing cleaned or what? tnks

You may be able to get away by just adjusting the idle. It is a black knob on the left side kind of under the fuel tank. Have fun.

Common if the carbs are dirty, Try adding sea Foam to the fuel and ride it.
See if that will help.

I agree. When I bought my '94 it had been sitting a while. I adjusted the idle AND added sea foam (and do so on a pretty regular basis). Hope it helps.
