turbo or supercharging a vn

Hay all just got done reading the write up by kanuck69 on how he rigged up an alternator on his bike. It got me to thinking a similar set up could be used to run a supercharger for a bike. I like this idea becouase they produce linerar power and. Once set are are more or less pkug and play set ups. The only problem is the engineering challange of finding a drive source off of the motor on out bikes. The out her option is a turbo. This might be the easyer to do set up for our. Particular bikes but it takes a lot more fine tuning in my opinion. Most will be just co trolling the amount of boost. A turbo system can get complicated quickly. Then u have lag in a turbo, while a charger is instantaneous.

I guess what I'm getting at is a charger is more user friendly but harder to out fit our bikes with while the turbo would be more easily done but require more work to get it tuned right. Does anyone know if eather has been attempted with our bikes and is so what set up? Also do u think it would be posible to keep the dual carbs or for the ease of it would a one carb into the charger set up be better. I know u can run eather system with a carb as long as the compressor is behind the carb. I know everything would have to be custom fabricated but how cool would it be to have one of our little bikes eather turbo or supper charged.

Keep her rubber side down.

As I was reading your post title Kanuck's bike came into mind.you don't have to have to use a pull through system, but it's harder to pressurize a blow through system.could run a turbo where the goats belly is.have to check for room

I've seen that hypercharger before online. It's a bolt on piece & I'm not sure if it's more for looks or if it is actually serving a function short of forcing air into your carb.
Kind of a ram air system I guess!?

Hyperchargers won't do much more than doing an earshave.

Note that the increase they claim for the hypercharger also involved re-jetting and aftermarket pipes. Not sure what kind of airfilter the device uses.

No comparison to turbocharging. They do look cool......
