New found details on rough run and backfire!!!

My friend with the 750 had told me the other day that the bike running rough deal only occurs when the bike warms up. The bike was in storage for awile and recently taken out. My guess is to flush out the old gas and replace with new to start. The backfiring still occurs though so there might be a possibility of more than just bad gas!!!!! If anybody has an idea of why this bike may be running rich please get back to me!!!!!! Thank you !!!!!!

If it does it when it warms up, I'm betting it's not running rich, but lean, and probably a vacuum leak. Hows your idle when it's warmed up, stable or inconsistent?

If it's running rich after warming up, is your choke staying on somewhat? Do you smell gas in the exhaust? Any black smoke from the pipes? Plugs wet and black?

look up reed valve in the search section. the marble cork idea worked for me. also are the bafles taken out or is it a aftermarket exhaust, as this may couse a lean mixture as well.
