Vacuum line plugs

After you have coastered, why do you plug the vacuum line on the right side, rear carb? Wouldn't that carb still need vacuum for proper fuel flow?

Fuel is gravity fed. You do not want a vacuum leak, trust me.

The carb is supplying vacuum, not using it. That side goes to the air valve which gets removed with coasters.

OK, thanks. I capped it with one of the little white caps that come with wire shelving for the cut ends. Fits perfectly!

if you still have a stock (vacuum operated) petcock, that gets it vacuum from the other carb (left side)

I plug my lines with a small screw or bolt....works great.....
Last season, I hooked both carb vacs to a tee, then to the petcock...didnt work too well...too much vac lost I think....back to right plugged, left to petcock....

Plugging with a screw sounds like a good idea. Certainly should be more permanent then using a rubber cap. (nothing to dry out and rot)

Did you tap threads into the vacuum nipple to hold the bolt?

Thinking I might as well go this route while I have everything apart. Planning on replacing the plastic fuel inlets with the brass ones while I'm at it.

......I'd rather wake up in the middle of nowhere then in any city on earth.
