Mixture screw initial settings?

What is the consensus on the mixture screw initial setting? 2 turns out?

I run mine 2 turns out. My bike is stock and that is rich. I like good 'manners'.

Idle is idle. No amount of external modification will change the amount of air/fuel necessary to idle. It would be a discussion I would probably enjoy.

Probably tickled with it aren't you, Spock?

Mine will chug right along in 2nd gear on level ground with no throttle. Common sense should tell that is more gas than it takes to idle in neutral.

They come from the factory 1 5/8 turns out to pass EPA requirements.. General consensus here is 2 1/2 turns makes it about right if things are stock.

[/SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] The mini-skirt is a very functional article of clothing. With it a woman can run much faster; and because of it she may have too.

Mixture screws?

So I presume the further out the mixture screws go, the more fuel introduced to the mixture equation? Mine are set 3 turns out on the front and 3 and a half on the rear. Stock air filters, and quite open mufflers on the original collector. It cracks back through the pipes on deceleration so I'm thinking of uping the jets to Docs 140/40 size,it may help save my bike from leaning out. Any thoughts on this fellows.

Shouldn't need to up the jets with stock filters.are you coastered or marbled? If not read up on it in the verses.these bikes backfired a lot stock
