Fuel line size

Does anyone know the size of the tubing for the fuel lines? Mine are a bit old and I want to replace them all...

Thanks for the help

I think it is metric as I tried every SAE fuel line in the store and none were correct.

Let us know what you come up with.

yes i just bought 5/16'' inside diameter line for mine, BUT the stock lines had a slightly larger outside diameter, so i also bought some of those "line compressors" for that size

I just used 1/4" fuel line from NAPA, but I have some carb probs, so maybe you shouldn't listen to me.

Just for the record (I know this thread is old), I used 5/16" lines when I rebuilt the carbs. I agree with 93VN750 that it is probably metric, because on the second ride after replacing them, the lines started leaking like a sieve. I ended up getting some hose clamps from the auto parts store (the original lines didn't use them) and everything has been great ever since.

Anyone ever figure out what size line to use? Going to be bringing an old bike back from the dead and want to change the lines as well.

I ended up using 5/16" line, but it was from an auto parts store. Worked fine, but after the second ride or so, it apparently expanded on the petcock side, because it started leaking. (Maybe metric petcock and SAE hose?) I used a hose clamp on the petcock ends and it was all good.
