Carb reassembly - float needle

Looking at the downloaded manual and it's not very specific. Putting in new float needles and they seem to slide in the hole easily but also come out easily. With the float attached should the needle raise up out of its holder a little? Like maybe 1/8 of an inch? Or is something amiss here?

shouldn't be 1/8 of an inch, but yes they should move up and down.. that is how the fuel gets into the carbs with out overflowing into the engine.

This is a general picture, kind of showing how a carb works

I hope they can describe what I can not

Nitro...sorry i missed your text last night...was working.

If you need any help let me know. I might be able to stop by for a bit.....depending on work schedule since I am "on call" this week and weekend.

Sorry i haven't been able to help out as much as I had hoped.
