hose under gas tank

I took the tank off my 1985 VN700 and see a black hose attached to a flat black box under the tank. Where does the other end go?

thanks

Bob

That's part of the airbox which is part of the emissions crap. It's what we take off after an ear shave with coaster. I cut mine up and took it out with a razor knife.

The one attached to the gas tank is a breather hose.

It should be ok. Get two marbles, standard size and shove them in the hoses coming from each cylinder per the vulcan verses and then all that stuff is out of play.
