Price for carb rebuild and sync

A guy is wanting to charge me $250 for a carb rebuild and sync. Is that a good price?

Is he taking the whole bike or do you have to remove the carbs?
If you remove the carbs yourself, you already have half the battle accomplished.

I'd have to assume if he is synching the carbs he needs the whole bike, no?

I was told he could redue the carbs but then would need the bike to resync them.

I sent you links to the carb teardown/rebuild videos (2 parts) and the downloadable manual.
Kanuck69 also has a link for the manual in his signature.

You have the carbs out so the rest is easy....syncing the carbs is not critical as long as both slides are opening and closing at the same time.

I have the vacuum gauges to sync them once you get it running.
I also gave you my cell number and if I can, I will try to stop over to give you a hand when time permits.

Just dissasemble one side at a time and make sure you take photos for reference. remove all the rubber parts before using any carb cleaner. if you for get how to put it back together, you can use the photos or the other side as a reference.

clean all the rubber parts with seafoam but not carb cleaner as many will damage rubber parts.

You can do it, the internet is your friend

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPaVmfYhOGg

Clean everything out, follow the vid and information here and you should be fine.

For $250 you mine as well try to do it yourself and if you totally mess it up you can get this one.
