6mm jet vs 7mm jet

Hey guys ill try to keep this short! I have been tinkering with my main jets lately and I ordered some from my local shop because they are much cheaper than the pj online site! Anyway, I accidentally ordered my last pair of jets with the wrong part number and I got some 7mm Keihn cv jets instead of the 6mm head type that goes in our carbs! Other than the head being alight bigger around, the whole jet measures the same over all length and such! Does anybody know if this will work in our carbs, or if it will act or perform any differently than the 6mm jet?!
Thanks in advance!

I ordered the n424-27
And ours is the 99100-393

I doubt it will fit. It would be like trying to fit a 12mm bolt into a 10mm bolt hole. The 7mm jet is 7mm in diameter while the 6mm jet is 6mm in diameter.

I only understand what I don't understand.

I'd say not worth the effort. The Honda dealer I got my jets from, they were like $2 each.
Just get the right ones.

yeah these are ordered from my local Honda! Unfortunately the parts people only order jets out of catalogs from western powersports or parts unlimited! And the biggest jet in this catalogs is 152.5! Guess ill just have to fork out $20 for two jets from the Internet :/

Normally, it's the thread size that's listed. The jets don't have a hex head do they? I thought they were slotted.

They are just round and slotted! And with the website I posted above it shows the measurements at the head diameter and overall length! That's why I wasn't sure on the threads, and if the threads are the same would a slightly larger head hurt anything?! Guess ill just have to wait till I get the bigger size jets I ordered and compare them to my old 142's! That I swapped out!

for the main jets a larger head won't hurt, for the secondaries there isn't room for a larger head
