Arrow Petcock rebuild question

VN 750: Petcocks

1985 - 1988 (?) Petcocks = Res - On - Prime
1988 - 2006 Petcocks = Res - On - Off

Are the Petcock rebuild kits different, ....does it matter upon ordering ?

Also, will a "Diaphram" (only) repair most Petcocks, or should one order the entire rebuild kit ?
Any info will be much appreciated.
tia

Rebuild kits will work the same on both petcocks... the difference is in the petcock itself and the parts on the rebuild kit fit the same way.

The second question: well, it depends on what is wrong with it. If it's leaking, it could be any of the o-rings or the diaphragm itself.

1985 VN700 unknown mileage (over 33K)

AGM Battery
Iridium spark plugs
NGK wires and caps
Relocated R/R
Marbled

Just stroke the petcock for a bit, it will fix itself.

I only understand what I don't understand.

I don't think it will fix its self. In fact, if you stroke it I bet it will leak more! Lol

Where is it leaking from or can you tell? I have a whole kit that came out of mine that I had rebuilt (actually there was nothing wrong with mine). It is used but you are welcome to try it first if you want, let me know!

04-3,200 miles bought July 2011 with 928 miles. Loaded with acessories to many to list here, see my albums for more details! I also make a custom tank bib specific for the 750 if anyone is interested, ck my albums for some pics.
