Gas Smell After Riding

Hey all! I've had a great time learning from so many of your knowledgeable posts and getting to know this crazy fun bike. Right now the bike runs great, but I've noticed a fairly strong gas smell that lingers for about 15 minutes after I've run the bike. It doesn't stink up my garage overnight so it's not a continuous leak. Has anyone else come across this? Any specific problem areas to check?

Check your fuel hoses. Super cheap to replace, and worth it. I had the same issue, no visible gas, but i smelt it a little. Fresh hoses cleared it up.

I already changed the fuel hoses yesterday. The smell has persisted. And niterider, what's brackley?

I would check around the tank for leaks. I had to replace mine because gas was leaking from the rear mount tab.

Also, if it is hot, you may smell fumes venting from the tank.

I only understand what I don't understand.

I thought it was a joke but wasn't 100% sure and didn't want to offend. I've already read several threads that turned quite testy from much less!

Is it normal to smell fumes venting from the tank, or is that just a consequence of having a leak in it?
