Recent Fuel Economy Change

I had a recent MPG change and it had me scratching my head for a while.
I finally decided to look at the air filters.

I found a mud wasp nest in both sides...

I wonder if that has anything to do with my problem

I am laying odds that they did not help. The foam kinda went south where the nest touched it.

Getting some new K&N's to replace both sides.

Growing old is mandatory.:
Growing up is optional.

Too bad they werent honeybees, else ya couldda had a nice snack !...and ya, that'll make the bike run richer and use more fuel....may wanna check yer plugs too...bet theyre carboned up some....

Yea, I got new filter stuff coming.
...and thanks for the flag on the plugs.

Ya! I bought 2003 from a guy that lived on a farm, after about 15 months I decided to look inside the ears and check the filters. (the bike only had 5330 mi. on it and the carbs had just been cleaned before I bought it. I had corn in my ears! All that time I was burning Ethanol. Ha!
