K&N Air Filters

Does anyone know the part# for K&N Air Filters that will clamp directly to the carbs and a place to get a good price on them?

KA 7586
http://www.knfilters.com/
I was lookin for them a couple of months ago and no one had them not even K&N, said they were on backorder........Goodluck

I don't think this one clamps directly to the carb, it replaces the current filter.

Not K&N's but the Uni-Pod part number is..
1 UNI Podkit high performance foam air filter kit,
p/n: PK-92 (2-1/4 2-1/8 in / 55 53 mm)
about $30-35 for the pair

K&N's are
Auto Zone (may have to special order)
2 x K&N RC-2340 = $71.82 (not including local tax)
-or-
AJ USA (www.ajusa.com) 1-800-877-1911
2 x K&N RC-2340 = $58.70 (includes "FREE" shipping!!)

So I ordered the filters and I'm running V&H pipes the question now is should I order a jet kit like http://www.factorypro.com/? or should I order individual pieces from places like http://www.sudco.com/ or http://www.motorcyclecarbs.com/ Are there gaskets and seals that I need to order? Do they come with the jet kit? Should I be getting a carb rebuild kit? Any replies will be much appreciated

Any opinions? Is there anything special in the factory pro kit that makes it worth the $90 price tag.

The factory pro kits givens you options since it contains a variety of different sizes, along with shims etc., though most common seem to be 140/40 combo.
No need for a carb rebuild kit as long as you are working with a healthy carb(s).
Since you are doing an "ear shave" what you will need besides the filters and factory pro (or equivalent) kit is..
1 set of SCP coasters for VN750 (or any set of coasters for the VN750.. may need new gaskets for this)
and
1 EMGO Crankcase breather,
p/n: 14-20900
Though some have opted to just route the hose to an unobstructed place and not used the breather.
Several write-ups over in the yahoo VN750 files on ear-shaves if you need them.

Finally got around to removing the air boxes, re-jetting, & installing the K&N filters. I think I had a harder time getting the new filters on compared to getting the carbs in and out. There was no crankcase vent line anywhere on the air box so I have a EMGO Crankcase breather I didn't use and my carbs vent line goes to a fitting under the tank. I used 42 pilot jets and 140 front 143 rear main jets 2 shims under each needle. Made a noticeable difference felt like the front wheel lifted between 1 & 2 gear shift although I think I was winding the **** out of it.

As confused as a hungry baby in a topless bar.
