Vn750 gas tank lock out

Does anyone know a trick or how I can get a gas tank open without a key? I just purchased one for a few bucks, but the lid is shut, and there is no key. Anyhelp would be much appreciated!

pop the pin on the hinge out pull the cap off. disassemble and re-key to work with you existing key for the ignition.

......I'd rather wake up in the middle of nowhere then in any city on earth.

Tap the hinge pin out with a punch and hammer.

i just did one using a small drill bit, smaller than 1/8", not sure the exact size, and a small ball pein hammer, they come out pretty easy. two screws will remove the other side of the hinge once the cap is open.

Try another Kawasaki key .... I found my key opened my friend's KZ1000 and his key opened mine .... different cut patterns too.
