Ran out of Gas - Petcock problem?

So, was out riding today when I ran out of gas on the way to the gas station. (go figure)
I was a bit surprised at this because I only had 88 miles on the trip odometer (I reset at each fill up) Then I remembered That I had sat in stop and go traffic for over an hour the other day...

When I switch over to reserve, I found that I was completely empty. Or at least I didn't hear any gas sloshing in the tank when I rocked the bike from side to side.

So, it would appear that the petcock is either clogged on the reserve port, or something has failed and is feeding gas through the reserve port even with the valve turned to main.

Any ideas on what the problem/fix may be?

......I'd rather wake up in the middle of nowhere then in any city on earth.

petcock

Try removing the petcock and cleaning it. Also check in your tank for rust. Mine had rust and my petcock had rust in it. But once I cleaned it, she runs great now
