Take a look and read through this: Repair Manual Download

it is pretty helpful, I just pulled mine off last night in about an hour
Once you get the 4 rubber boots loose, and the choke cable off, it's basically a game of wiggling it out just right.
It was also helpful to have a 2nd person lifting up on the surge tank to give an extra inch or two of wiggle room.

......I'd rather wake up in the middle of nowhere then in any city on earth.
