Gas cap

Does anyone know if there is an after market non locking gas cap for the Vulcans. The key broke off in mine today.

Can't you just pull the key out with a pick tool?

If you can get the key out, you can get a locksmith to cut a new key for the cap--and get him to make a spare while he's at it. Or you can get the cap lock rekeyed to use the same key as the ignition switch, if they're different?

And while the cap is apart, lubricate it, so you don't break another key off.

(BTW, after reading what I just wrote, I realized it sounds a bit smartassed, but it really wasn't meant to; I've been in the exact same situation)

The key code is stamped into the bottom of the helmet lock. You can have a new key made from that code number. There is enough play in the lock pin to push it backwards out of the catch and bend it down to get the screwdriver into the screws.
