My 2004 has been coastered by the previous owner. I was cleaning the bike last night and checking for vaccum leaks to cure my popping at decel and I noticed a large black hose under the seat that is plugged with what looks like a large wooden dowel and a spring clamp. It looks like it might go to the purge tank but I am not sure. What is this hose for and why is it plugged and clamped?

I'm pretty sure it is part of the coaster mod. I removed all the unnessesary components when I did mine. A pic would help.
