weird

Okay so I m takkeing the bike home for lunch, I get a few miles from work the bike starts cutting out damn near falls on its face. I have roughly 1/8 of a tank of fuel I reached down to flip the petcock to reserve it continues to run crappy for a few seconds then clears up
I filled the tank to the neck it was 2.757 gallons. This is the 2nd time this has happend
Is the tank that small or is my fuel gauge off???? I run sea foam religiously and run the reserve every so often to make sure it works

My gauge is notoriously fickle. Sometimes I have to hit reserve when it barely hits the red zone, other times I can be well into it before it sputters. I don't trust it to be as accurate as my truck fuel gauge.

I'm keepin' all the left over parts. I'm gonna use 'em to build another bike!

Previous owner told me the guage on my bike was off. First half tank you could go 85 miles, last half you'd better look for a station at 120. Ran it out on the regular setting at 128. Switched to reserve and went to a station. Ever since then, I've used 120 as my fill up point. Even then, it takes less than 3 gallons for a fill up.

I don't think the little gas pump on the guage means half a tank. It means buy gas.

Hi I have about the same problem I live in Canada and after about 150 kms it might start cutting out on right side to let me know " Quickly turn me to reserve or you are going to let me die". I know there is a lot of gas still in the tank if I stop and shake the bike from side to side I'll start up no problem so i am wondering if there is a hose going to other side that has a hole in it?
