choke starter plunger not returning

Brand new to all of this...

Starting is difficult and I plan on getting a MF battery very soon.

I've noticed that one of the choke starter plungers does not return to the depressed position after turning the choke off. (the one visible on the right side). The other one freely returns to the depressed position.

I've been reading the forums every day for a few weeks, and am assuming I'll need to have the carbs removed and the plunger worked on.
However, until then is it ok to simply push the plunger down after the engine is started and warmed up?
If it is left out, then the cylinder is using more fuel?

Thanks to all for such a great resource of info.

You can try spraying it with some WD40...it may cure the stick.

Yes, if left open you will be getting a much richer mixture in that cylnder. Which may eventually foul the plug and cause misfires and other problems.

If the WD40 does not free it up, do push it back by hand before you take off.
