Petcock gasket?

I am just about done restoring my 93. Qustion though. Is there more then just a "O" ring on the petcock? Shouldn't there be a normal gasket?

Having recently brawled with my petcock, I can assure you that it's just an o-ring. Make sure you clean the underside of the tank really well, though, otherwise the petcock will laugh at you and allow gasoline to run everywhere. Not that that's ever happened to me or anything....

Yeah. That's what happened to me. I think I'm gonna RTV it a little too. I don't trust that little SOB of a O ring now.

Had mine off several times, and the O-ring did its job. Make sure there are no nicks or frayed sections on the ring.

I'm keepin' all the left over parts. I'm gonna use 'em to build another bike!

Got mine on ebay for around $25. That was the cheapest I found.
